Bloomington, MN Master Bath & Stairwell Remodel
The homeowners came to us to modernize their outdated Master Bathroom. The original bathroom was dreary by their own admission. They desired a bathroom with a more spacious feel with natural light that would put them in a positive state of mind to get them going in the morning.
The space had two outdated windows, one of which was next to the bathtub, which would require a unique plan to utilize this natural light while simultaneously opening up the floor plan of the bathroom. Our solution was to flip-flop the shower and tub areas. We removed the existing shower and wall and replaced it with a freestanding tub. We then replaced the existing tub with a glass-enclosed shower. A waterproof window with decorative privacy glass was installed. Updated cabinetry with new bathroom hardware accented the newly remodeled bathroom. These design elements turned the bathroom into the modern, open airy space the homeowners desired during their initial conversations with the Schrader Team.
We also updated the plain stairwell by expanding and rounding the base of the stairs and incorporating more elegant railing, spindles, and posts. Carpet was removed and a runner installed to complete the transformation of this basic space into a more modern and inviting entryway to the second level of the home.
